Medipol is on THE Impact Rankings 2023

Istanbul Medipol University ranked in the top thousand in THE Impact Rankings 2023, announced by Times Higher Education (THE). In the “Health and Quality Life” field, Medipol managed to be in the top 5 in Turkey, ranking 201-300 worldwide.

UK-based Times Higher Education (THE), which conducts research and prepares reports on higher education institutions around the world, has announced its “Impact Rankings of Universities (2023)” list. Istanbul Medipol University was listed in THE Impact Rankings 2023 World Rankings. Medipol ranked in the first thousand bands in the 2023 General Impact Ranking, prepared by considering corporate data and including 1591 institutions from 112 countries. In the ranking carried out within the scope of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Medipol managed to rank in the top 5 in Turkey in the field of “SDG3: Health and Quality Life” and in the ranking of 201-300 worldwide. Istanbul Medipol University also took place in the following categories where it presented data.

SDG 4: Qualified Education, 801-1000

SDG 5: Gender Equality, 601- 800

SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, 601-800

SDG 10: Reducing Inequalities, 301-400

SDG 13: Climate Action, 601-800

SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, 401-600

SDG 17: Partnerships for Goals, 801-1000


PROF. CERAN: THE SUCCESS OF BEING ON THE LISTS IS NOT A COINCIDENCE

Prof. Dr Ömer Ceran stated that it is essential and meaningful for Istanbul Medipol University to enter THE 2023 Impact List. Noting that Medipol has made a name for itself by serving its country and region in addition to scientific studies, Ceran said: “These achievements are not a coincidence on behalf of our university. The key to success is the quality and accreditation processes we focus on, the steps we take in the field of internationalization, and the self-data of our academic and administrative staff. While taking firm steps towards our strategic goals with quality studies, we will be at the top of the lists prepared by the world’s reputable evaluation institutions every year. ”


PROF. TİFTİKÇİGİL: OUR SUCCESS CONTINUES IN SDG

Istanbul Medipol University Sustainable Development Application and Research Center Director Prof. Dr Burcu Yavuz Tiftikçigil stated they want to spread awareness of sustainable development throughout the university. Stating that they focused on addressing the issue regarding social contribution by providing a systematic approach, Tiftikçigil said: “Universities are considered among the most important actors in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the United Nations. Universities contribute to the goals of decent work and economic growth, climate action, reducing inequalities, responsible consumption and production, and partnerships for healthy individuals and purposes, especially qualified education. Today, it has become important to measure the contribution of universities to SDGs with international indices. In THE Impact Ranking, which is among THE most important indices in this field, the rise of Istanbul Medipol University continued this year. Especially in terms of ‘Healthy Individuals’ and ‘Reducing Inequalities’, our university has made significant contributions. ”
