International School of Medicine

Thank you for your interest in the International School of Medicine at Istanbul Medipol University. We offer a distinguished medical education program that has attracted some of the most successful students in our country, reflecting the academic excellence and reputation of our Faculty.

Our mission is to educate physician-scientists who are sensitive to societal health needs, capable of problem-solving, innovative, pioneering, and committed to scientific research. To achieve this goal, we have adopted an integrated, learner-centered educational model based on discussion, reasoning, and active participation. This holistic approach enables students to collect, explore, analyze, and present knowledge both on subjects shaped by societal needs and on topics aligned with their personal academic interests.

The language of instruction is English. During the preparatory year, students acquire the linguistic competence required for professional, academic, and social communication. Following this stage, students begin the preclinical phase of medical education, where horizontal integration among basic sciences is combined with vertical integration between basic and clinical sciences. In the subsequent clinical phase, students gain hands-on medical skills and professional experience by working closely with faculty members in outpatient clinics, inpatient services, operating rooms, and intensive care units within our affiliated hospitals.

Starting from the first year, students also participate in a structured research track conducted concurrently with the medical curriculum. Research projects are carried out in either basic or clinical sciences and are conducted in our modern research centers or university hospitals. By the end of the third year, students present and publish their research outcomes in the form of scientific reports.
