Asst. Prof. Ozan Emre Eyupolu from the School of Pharmacy has been included in the chapter from the book “Nutraceuticals in Cancer Prevention Management and Treatment” by Taylor & Francis Group Apple Academic Press. A postdoctoral student from Pakistan’s Riphah Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences named Kalsoom Saleem contributed as the second author to the portion where Eyupolu served as the first author. In the section where nanotechnological solution options for treating and avoiding cancer problems are outlined, Eyupolu emphasises the importance of polymeric chemotherapeutic drugs, multidrug resistance proteins, and anti-cancer nanotechnological formulations in dealing with cancer.

ANTI-CANCER POLYMERIC NANO-NUTRACEUTICALS

In a statement on his research, Eyupolu stated: “Cancer, one of the leading killers worldwide, affects human health by resulting from a variety of epidemiological factors that upset the balance of the planet, produce climate changes, and as a result of anomalies in mechanistic cellular forms. The plant foods we purchase contain nutraceuticals, vital elements of human nutrition. These fundamental elements of plant foods are turned into nanobiotechnological agents thanks to the assistance of polymer science. These agents are transformed into biological cancer weapons with different nano-sized medication delivery systems, entering the service of humanity. Nanotechnological formulations based on polymers and lipids have the potential to be anti-cancer in target tissues and are rapidly digested. These circumstances were highlighted in the book.’
