The project of Muhammet Ali Beheşti Baylan, a student in Traditional and Complementary Medicine Ph.D. program, was entitled to be supported within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1002-A Short-Term Support Module.
The results of the applications submitted to TÜBİTAK 1002-A Short-Term Support Module have been announced. The project of Muhammet Ali Beheshti Baylan, who is a student in Traditional and Complementary Medicine Ph.D. program at Istanbul Medipol University Graduate School of Health Sciences, was entitled to be supported within this scope. Baylan was accepted with his project titled “Investigation of the Effect of Oral Use of Lyophilized Royal Jelly (Apis Mellifera) on Cognitive Functions and Inflammation-Related Immune System Cytokine Levels in Older Individuals”. The project, which aims to preserve cognitive abilities such as memory and thinking, focuses on the potential benefits of royal jelly. Commenting on the project, Baylan said: “With advancing age, the functioning of our brain changes. Sometimes these changes can manifest as memory and thinking difficulties. Royal jelly produced by honeybees is thought to have properties that may support cognitive health. With this project, we aim to shed light on whether royal jelly can serve as a natural aid in maintaining cognitive functions as people age. We anticipate that our project will open new avenues for researchers to improve the quality of life of elderly individuals. Our goal is to enable people to live a healthier and more active life in their later years.”
MAXIMUM OF 12 MONTHS
TÜBİTAK 1002-A Short-Term Support Module provides support for short-term and small-budget R&D projects to be carried out by universities, research hospitals, and research institutes. Within the scope of the program, the duration of the project can be up to 12 months while the upper limit of support for project proposals whose application has been approved as of July 28, 2023 is 75,000 TL per year, including scholarship.
