Asst. Prof. Murat CULDUZ
After studying Tourism & Hotel Management at Cukurova University for two years, he passed to Ege University and graduated from English Language & Literature Department in 1997. He started working at Ankara University the same year and he taught ESL classes there. In 1999, he joined the army and came to Istanbul as a Supplementary Officer. After finishing his military service, he worked as an English Teacher for Preparatory Classes at a private college for 9 years. In 2009, he started working at Istanbul Aydin University. In 2010, he founded the Preparatory Program at Istanbul Medipol University and became the head of the program. In 2014, Murat Culduz completed his master's degree in English Language and Literature at Namık Kemal University, and in 2022 he received his doctorate degree from Bahçeşehir University, Department of Educational Technologies and was appointed as a doctoral faculty member at Istanbul Medipol University. Murat Culduz went to The USA as a Fulbright SIR ( Scholar In Residence ) and worked at IEC ( Intensive English Center ) and Language and Literature Department, Tennessee State University during 2019- 2020 Academic year. He returned to Turkey and currently he is working at Istanbul Medipol University as The General Coordinator of Foreign Languages and The Language School Director.

Inst. Dr. Murat ŞAHİN
Murat Şahin has been teaching since 2009 and joined IMU in 2010. He graduated from Ege University with a degree in American Culture and Literature in 2008. He completed his master’s programme in International Relations at İstanbul Bilgi University in 2016. He completed his PhD in Translation and Cultural Studies from Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University in 2025. He received TEFL certificate from Hunter College and pedagogical formation certificate from Dokuz Eylül University. He also received a teacher trainer development certificate in London from International House of London. His research interests are discourse analysis and internationalization in higher education and translation and cultural studies.

Onur Polat has been teaching since 2010 and joined IMU in 2016. He graduated from Mersin University with a degree in English Linguistics in 2010. He completed his master’s programme in English Literature at İstanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University in 2022. His research interests are information technology on education, learning management systems, language corpus studies, early modern literature, and linguistic studies.

Derya Güngör has been teaching since 2015 and joined IMU in 2016. She graduated from Boğaziçi University with a degree in Western Languages and Literatures in 2014. She completed her master’s programme in Media and Communication Systems at IMU in 2023. She received her CELTA from London-Oxford House College. Her research interests are new media and women empowerment.

Utku Gürel has been teaching since 2007 and joined IMU in 2017. He graduated from Beykent University with a degree in English Language and Literature in 2007. Mustafa Kaan Tütüncü has been teaching since 2020 and joined IMU in 2022. He graduated from Istanbul Aydin University with a degree in Translation and Interpretation in 2019. He is completing his master’s programme in English Language Teaching at Istanbul Aydin University. He received Pedagogical Formation Certificate from Istanbul Aydin University. Begüm Yağız Sabuncu has been teaching since 2016 and joined IMU in 2018. She graduated from İstanbul Kadir Has University with a degree in American Culture and Literature in 2015. She has completed their master’s programme in Critical and Cultural Studies at İstanbul Bilgi University in 2019. She completed her Pedagogical formation certificate in 2016 in Istanbul Technical University. Also, she received her CELTA in 2018 from ITI. Her research interests are language and cultural studies, women studies, and sociolinguistics.

Serap Özmen has been teaching since 2008 and joined IMU in 2016. She graduated from Karadeniz Technical University with a degree in English language and Literature in 2006. She is completing her master’s programme in Translation Studies at İstanbul Okan University. She is completing DELTA in ITI and has received her Pedagogical Formation certificate from Selçuk University. Their research interests are the function of language in trade negotiations, communication strategies used in commercial relationships, the role of language in trade dynamics, commercial and technical translation, terminology and terminography, and intercultural communication in both translation and international trade.

İldeniz Keskinkaya has been teaching since 2013 and joined IMU in 2016. They graduated from İstanbul University with a degree in American Culture and Literature in 2013. Gamze Uçak Ersizer has been teaching since 2016 and joined IMU in 2017. She graduated from Boğaziçi University with a degree in Foreign Language Education in 2014. Bülent Yaşar has been teaching since 2014 and joined IMU in 2018. He graduated from Dokuz Eylül University and Anadolu University with degrees in German Language Teaching and English Language Teaching in 2014. He completed his master’s programme in English Language Education at Bahçeşehir University in 2021. He is working towards a doctorate in English Language Education at Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa. He received his CELTA from British Study Centres, in Edinburgh. His research interests are online education, teacher identity, linguistics, and language assessment.

Hatice Granados Fuquene has been teaching since 2011 and joined IMU in 2017. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in English Language Teaching from Anadolu University. She completed her Master’s Degree in English Language Teaching at Bahçeşehir University in 2020. Currently, she is a student at Anadolu University Laboratory and Veterinary Assistance Services Department. She received her CELTA from International Training Institute in 2017 and she also holds a Train the Trainer certificate (SLTEP) from Sabancı University in addition to her Train the Trainer certificate from Cambridge English. Her research interests lie in the area of computer-assisted language learning, pre-service and in service teacher education and AI use in teaching.
