Istanbul Medipol University accepted as a member of "United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI)"

Istanbul Medipol University has become a member of "United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI)", which works with the United Nations (UN) to achieve goals such as peace, human rights and sustainable development and has 1,400 members in 145 countries.  UNAI, which includes the world's leading universities, draws attention as an initiative that was launched in 2010 with the aim of implementing 10 basic principles, primarily the UN principles, for all the people of the world. Istanbul Medipol University was accepted as a member of this initiative thanks to its activities within the framework of sustainable development goals and its support for the implementation of the UN agreement. The initiative, which aims to establish coordination between higher education institutions to contribute to the realization of United Nations goals through research and education, also has the characteristic of a common intellectual social responsibility culture that brings these institutions and the UN together. Institutions that are members of the initiative are obliged to complete an activity that supports at least one of the principles determined each year.

The 10 principles adopted by UNAI are as follows:

1. Determination to solve the problem of poverty through education
2. Commitment to building the capacity of higher education systems around the world
3. Commitment to providing educational opportunities for all without distinction of sex, race, religion, or ethnic origin,
4. Commitment to encourage world citizenship through education
5. Commitment to ensuring that everyone interested has the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue higher education,
6. Commitment to human rights, including freedom of inquiry, freedom of opinion, and freedom of expression,
7. Commitment to increase intercultural dialogue and understanding through education and to "unlearn" learned intolerance,
8. Commitment to promoting peace and conflict resolution through education, 
9. Commitment to ensure sustainability through education,
10. Commitment to the fundamental principles of the United Nations.
