Aim | This course is designed to introduce you to the field of Data Analysis in Psychology. You will learn about how to apply and interpret the results of a variety of statistical techniques from both descriptive and inferential statistics; to understand the fundamental concepts in statistics including sampling, experimentation, variability, distribution, association, hypothesis testing, and analyze statistical arguments to appreciate the relevance and importance of statistics. |
Course Content | This course contains; SPSS the Basics,Normal Distribution,Significance, effect size and SPSS application ,Correlation and SPSS application,Independent t-test and Spss application,Related t-test and SPSS application,Independent one-way ANOVA and SPSS application,Linear and multiple linear regression and SPSS application,Entering the data of students´ projects during the course hour, variable identification and demonstration,Mann Whitney U test and SPSS Application,Wilcoxon Test and SPSS application,Kruskal Wallis Test and SPSS application,Chi square analysis and SPSS application,Validity and reliability analysis. |

• Students will know how to resolve the inventories used in psychology through SPSS software. Students will perform scale evaluation, obtain output of statistical data from SPSS and interpret such data. | 16, 6, 9 | A |
• Students will know what points are required to be considered so that the statistical evaluation will be proper during the organization of demographic forms to be formed in inventory studies. | 16, 6, 9 | A |
• Students will be informed about the principles of drawing sample. They will make decisions between simple random sampling and stratified random sampling. They will identify the population and the sample for a study they design for themselves. | 16, 6, 9 | A |
• Students will form a form of questionnaire for a project they plan on their own. They will obtain actual data through face to face interviews and know what ways are available to deal with problems they might encounter with regard to data collection and organization. | 16, 6, 9 | A |
• Students will be able to do the statistical analyses of a project designed by themselves through SPSS. They will know the difference between parametric and non-parametric tests. They will be able to choose the right technique of analysis and interpret that. | 16, 6, 9 | A |
