AimThe aim of this course is to show sociology students the approach of sociology to health and medical issues, to emphasize that there are different perspectives, to emphasize the importance of social sciences on health, disease, illness, etc. To show how concepts such as are interpreted, to present how some symptoms specific to communities vary from culture to culture, to show how sociology looks theoretically and methodologically at whether health issues are universal or cultural phenomena.
