Aim | History of ergotherapy describes the role of ergotherapy in relation with the holistic approaches to the occupational therapy, health, quality of life, participation and well-being. It examines the application of occupational therapy in the world. |
Course Content | This course contains; History and evolution of ergotherapy,Explaining the function of the World Health Organization Classification of the handicap,Disability, quality of life, participation and occupational therapy,Discussing issues related to peer education, self direction, person centered srudies, holistic approach and multi-faceted perspective in classroom,History of mental health services,Handicap and psychological aspects,Disorder and people associated with participation , disclosure of activity and environment,Discussing the social aspects of occupational therapy,Health , social justice, and through real life examples to explain the link between occupational therapy and discussion in the classroom.,Presentation in classromm about World federation of occupational therapy and the work,Discussion of assessment and treatment areas: activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, rest and sleep, education, work, play, leisure activities, social participation.,Discussion of treatment approaches: Acute and long-term care facilitation, residential and day programs, skilled geriatric services, community-based mental health services, schools, military rehabilitation centers, workplaces.,Explanation of the relationship betwwen health-wellbeing and occupational therapy.,Literature on about activity,disability, participation and occupational therapy. |
