AimThe aim of this course is to provide the students with an interdisciplinary approach in order to evaluate the events within the judicial system from the perspective of psychology.
Course ContentThis course contains; Introduction to the psychology of justice: The relationship between psychology and law,The science of psychology within the existing justice system,Intentions in criminal law: Consciousness and volition,Psychodynamics of crime and violence; Childhood and empathy,Psychopathology, brain injury and crime relationship,Alcohol, substance use, dependence and their relation to crime,Use of civil rights: Dementia, mental retardation, mental illness,Child abuse ,Sexual offenses and sexual perversions,The responsibility of the children dragged into the car and the criminal liability,Expression from children in the phrase: Criterion Based Expression Analysis ,The factors affecting the judge's decision: transference, prejudice, stereotype ,Antisocial-psychopathic persons and serial murders,Memory memory: 12 Angry Man.
