1 | What is a film? What is a short film? | Understand the basic definitions by researching the concepts of film and short film. |
2 | What are the elements of film? | Identify filmic elements (camera angles, sound, lighting, editing, etc.) and try to understand their importance |
3 | How can the elements of a film be used? How are they presented to us? | Find examples of how filmic elements are used and analyze how they create an effect. |
4 | What is pre-production? | Research the pre-production phase, learn about script writing and film planning. |
5 | What is plot and story and how are they formed? | Learn the concepts of story and plot, try to understand how they are used when creating a script. |
6 | How is pre-production implented into production? | Examine the process of moving from pre-production to production. |
7 | What are the elements of production and what should we be focusing on? | Examine the elements of the production (set design, costume design, make-up, casting) with examples and research the points to be considered. |
8 | What is mise-en-scéne? | Try to understand the concept of mise-en-scéne and its importance. |
9 | What is cinematography? | Research cinematography, learn the effect of camera use on film. |
10 | Set design, costume design, make-up, blocking the actors | Examine how elements such as set design, costume design, make-up, actor movements are used in the movie with examples. |
11 | What does the post-production consist of? | Research the stages of post-production (editing, post-production) and try to understand their importance. |
12 | What is editing? What should we be focusing on in editing? | Learn the concept of editing, its role in the movie and how it is done. |
13 | How is a film as a whole? | Analyze how the film is composed as a whole, how the different elements in the film come together. |
