Researchers studying axolotl and other salamander species with high regenerative capacity came together from 24 different countries. The theme of the meeting was "Comparative Studies and Opportunities in Salamander Research", and under the leadership of Professor Doctor Gürkan Öztürk, Director of Istanbul Medipol University Health Science and Technologies Research Institute (SABITA), various topics related to regeneration, immunology and development were extensively discussed. The meeting, attended by around 400 experts in their fields, lasted for 3 days with additional Advanced Microscopy and Axolotl Neuron Culture workshops organized within the REMER research center.
