Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Business and Management Sciences faculty members Prof. Hasan Dinçer and Prof. Serhat Yüksel were among the authors of a study titled “Synergistic Integration of Digital Twins and Sustainable Industrial Internet of Things for New Generation Energy Investments” which was published in the Journal of Advanced Research. A total of four authors contributed to the study published in the Journal of Advanced Research, of which the impact factor average for the last two years was 10.7. In the article, our faculty member Dinçer was the 2nd author and Yüksel was the 3rd. In the research, Prof. Gang Kou, one of the most prominent researchers of the multi-criteria decision-making technique in the world, served as the lead author.

A MULTI-CRITERIA DECISION-MAKING MODEL HAS BEEN DEVELOPED
Dinçer and Yüksel's research aimed to determine the most appropriate digital twin policies to develop renewable energy projects. To achieve this, a new fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making model was developed. The study concluded that protecting the ecosystem should be prioritized to increase the performance of digital twins used in renewable energy projects. Providing further information about the study, Prof. Serhat Yüksel and Prof. Hasan Dinçer said: “Digital twins make a significant contribution to the protection of the environment and the sustainability of the ecosystem. It is possible to achieve resource efficiency with the effective use of digital twins. On the other hand, thanks to instant data analysis in digital twins, places where resources are used unnecessarily can be determined. Thanks to the measures to be taken for this situation, energy savings can be achieved. Similarly, it is stated that thanks to digital twins, cost effectiveness of projects can be achieved, and this will have a positive impact on profitability.”

INTEGRATED WITH QUANTUM THEORY
The research published in the Journal of Advanced Research made a significant methodological contribution to the literature. In the study, Quantum Theory and Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Methodology were integrated. With the help of the method applied, the uncertainty in the process was minimized, and the accuracy and reliability of the analysis results obtained were increased.
