AimThe aim of this committee is to inform the students about the etiopathogenesis, clinical and laboratory findings and diagnostic methods of diseases related to gastrointestinal system by reminding the normal structures of the gastrointestinal system. This course is composed of courses lectures on Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Pathology, Pharmacology, Pediatrics, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Infectious Diseases.

1. Be able to define terminology and symptomatology of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary systems and nutrition
2. Can list common diseases of mouth and salivary gland
3. Be able to explain physiopathology of esophageal motor dysfunctions and reflux, describe pathology and characteristics of diseases
4. Be able to describe the pathogenesis, functional disorders of gastric diseases and describe the mechanisms of action of drugs used in peptic ulcer
5. Be able to comprehend the immunological basis of small intestine and large intestine diseases, to be able to list the pathology and basic radiological examinations used in diagnosis of these diseases, describe the basic radiological changes in the most common diseases
6. Be able to make differential diagnosis on the basis of acute and chronic abdominal pain, describe in which order the radiological methods can be used in differential diagnosis, describe the basic radiological changes
7. Be able to explain the pathologies and symptomatology of liver, biliary and pancreatic diseases, interpret basic biochemical changes, list the basic radiological examinations used in diagnosis of these diseases, describe the basic radiological changes in common diseases,
8. Make basic clinical approach to childhood liver diseases
9. be able to associate with the symptoms of gastrointestinal system tumors, to know the methods of protection and screening, to list the common types, to discuss the pathogenesis,
10. They should be able to define the importance of nutrition, its basic concepts, the frequency of nutritional deficiencies and the markers affecting them,
11. To be able to list the etiology, clinical features of gastrointestinal system infection
12. Must be able to explain steps of abdominal examination
13. Must be able to explain and make steps to install nasogastric probe
14. Must be able to explain and make stomach washing steps
