Course ContentThis course contains; Numbers and basic concepts,Exponents and radical expressions,Intervals, absolute value, literal expressions,Factorization and identities,Cartesian coordinate system, linear functions, and analytic geometry of lines,Linear equations in one and two variables,Linear inequalities,Word problems in business related concepts such as cost, revenue, profit, etc.,Supply and demand lines, equilibrium point ,Quadratic equations and equations in radical expressions,Quadratic inequalities,Matrices: matrix notation and matrix algebra,Determinant

1.1 Name, illustrate, and relate properties of the real numbers in terms of their operations.
1.2 Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division on numerical fractions, exponential numbers, and radicals.
2. Will be able to evaluate and simplify algebraic expressions.14, 16, 6, 9A, G
2.1 Perform calculations using order of operations on algebraic expressions.
2.2 Simplify both polynomial and rational expressions using factorization.
3. Will be able to find solution sets of linear equations, inequalities, and systems of linear equations in two variables.14, 16, 6, 9A, G
3.1 Illustrate linear equations, inequalities, and systems of linear equations in two variables.
3.2 Find solution sets of linear equations, inequalities, and systems of linear equations in two variables.
3.3 Set and solve word problems related to the field of interest using equations and inequalities.

4.1 Define linear functions.
4.2 Analyze linear functions algebraically and graphically.
4.3 Analyze supply-demand lines and find equilibrium point.

5.1 Find solution sets of quadratic equations.
5.2 Find solution sets of quadratic inequalities.
6. Will be able to describe the phenomena related with the fields of study using matrices.14, 16, 6, 9A, G
6.1 Understand matrix notation and terminology, and perform basic matrix operations, including addition, subtraction, scalar multiplication, and matrix multiplication, and understand the properties of these operations.
6.2 Find determinant of small size matrices (2X2, 3X3)
6.3 Solve word problems in business using matrices.
