AimThe aim of this course is to learn about ethical standards and regulations regarding applications of psychology and scientific research processes.
Course ContentThis course contains; Foundations of ethical behavior,Applying Ethical Theories to Professional Standards of Conduct: An Overview of the APA Ethics Code and Turkish Psychological Association Ethics Code,Ethical issues in different kinds of research,Psychological research with non-human animals,Ethical Decision Making,Competence,Multiple Relationships and Professional Boundaries ,Informed Consent or Shared Decision Making,Confidentiality, Privileged Communications, and Record Keeping ,Life-Endangering Patients ,Forensic psychology,Assessment,Special topics in therapy ,Review.

1. The student will be able to interpret main ethical theories in the history of ideas. S/he will be able to combine these theories with the principles of psychology profession. S/he will be able to apply these standards while doing scientific research. S/he will be able to think critically about ethical codes to develop them and s/he will know how not to act against the ethical codes in a therapeutic environment. 13, 19, 9A, E
1.1. S/he will know main principles in the history of ethics, will apply these while practicing as a psychologist and will use ethical codes when doing scientific research. 13, 19, 9A
2. S/he will be able to apply ethical codes set by international scientific councils to client-consultant relationships and scientific research processes. 10, 19, 9A
2.2. S/he will be able to use ethical codes in psychology profession competently. 10, 13, 9A
2.3. S/he will be able to follow ethical codes in scientific researches seeing the honour of humans and animal life as the main purpose. 10, 13, 9A
