Aim | In this course, we will refer to key episodes from the history of psychology to illustrate the interplay of theory, methodology and practice in the emergence of today’s psychology and its place in contemporary society. We will examine the major schools of thought in psychology (e.g., structuralism, functionalism, behaviorism, Gestalt psychology) Furthermore, we will focus on the social, cultural and political factors that shaped the evolution of psychological thinking in time. |
