Aim | To develop innovative orthopedic treatment methods and to create personalized prosthesis and implant and device designs, and to gain the ability to use virtual media tools to test them in a computer environment. |
Course Content | This course contains; Evaluation of students' computer knowledge,Orthopedic anatomy overview, medical and anatomical terminology, anatomical position, anatomical planes and axes,Basic explanations about orthopedic treatment procedures,Giving information about orthopedic implants, devices and surgical guides,Explaining the relation of computer aided design and finite element analysis programs with the course content, introducing the necessary hardware elements,Introduction to basic usage information of CAD program, introduction of software tools,Teaching basic drawing commands,Surgical guide design,Positioning the guide on the idealized model,Obtaining three-dimensional patient anatomy from radiological images in virtual environment,Positioning the surgical guide on the patient-specific model,Performing virtual operation in computer environment with surgical guide,Comparison of pre and postoperative models with biomechanical analysis with finite element analysis,Term project study including virtual implant design and biomechanical analysis. |
