| Aim | To acquire the knowledge of the diversity and development of textile materials from past to present and to gain the ability to design new patterns and use original patterns in furniture design. |
| Course Content | This course contains; Introduction, explaining the content of the course, giving information about the materials.,Introducing the designers who shape the Textile World ,Introducing various textile materials used in Interior Architecture ,Demonstration and discussion of sample applications on the subject ,Introducing various textile materials used in Architecture ,Demonstration and discussion of sample applications on the subject ,Explaining the types of curtain and upholstery fabrics ,Midterm Exam & Term Paper Submission (Curtain types and sketch drawings) ,Discussing the criteria and priorities that guide the selection of textile materials. ,Examination of wallpaper samples. Creating a panel about fabric types. ,Inviting the fabric company owner to the class as a guest speaker and informing the students about curtains, fabrics and wallpaper through the samples he brought. ,Designing patterns inspired by buildings with interesting facades. ,Reproduction of black & white and color alternatives of original patterns. ,Using original patterns in furniture and submitting it as a Final Paper.. |
