This course contains; Introduction to aquatic biochemistry,Molecular properties of water, interaction of water with surrounding molecules,Distilled water and its properties,Body water, Body water as solvent,Solubility of gases in water,Thermoregulatory effect of water,Body fluid compartments. Intracellular fluid, extracellular fluid, interstitial fluid, intravascular fluid,Exchange of substances between liquid compartments, aquaporins,Measuring body fluid volume,Osmotic, oncotic and hydrostatic pressures,Osmolarity and osmolality,Control of Plasma Osmolality,Osmolality and sodium. Hyperosmolality and Hypernatremia. Hypoosmolality and Hyponatremia,Water balance of the body. Water balance disorders. Lack of water Excess of water. Replacement fluids. Crystalloids Colloids.
