AimThis is a course for graduate students. Students are expected to understand the present radio access technologies (RATs) and be able to envision the technolgies that will enable beyond 5G networks.
Course ContentThis course contains; Introduction to Radio Access Technologies,Reliability and Waveform,OFDM and its Problems,Equalization - Part A,Equalization - Part B,Out-of-Band Radiation Issue and its Solution,CP and Adaptive Windowing,Flexible Multi-Numerology for 5G and Inter-Numerology Interference,CoMP/CRAN and its Ranging Issues,Sparse Channel Estimation and 3D MIMO Channel Models,URLLC and Grant-free Approaches,NOMA and its Variants,Orthogonal Time Frequency & Space (OTFS),Separability of Time and Frequency Overlapping Signals.

After successful completion of the course, the student will be able to: 1-Understand the role of RAT in a communication system. 2-Identification of drawbacks pertaining to the different RATs. 3-Finding solutions for RAT drawbacks. 4-Associate the RAT or RAT parameters with the different services and use cases. 5-Analyze different potential radio access techniques for beyond 5G networks.
