Aim | The aim of this course is to enable social work students to learn about the phenomenon of migration, basic concepts related to migration, migration legislation and migration processes in Turkey and to gain the social work skills necessary for working with migrants and asylum seekers by examining the problems experienced by asylum seekers and migrants with the migration process and the approach towards them in the host country. |
Course Content | This course contains; Introduction to the Lecture, Migration Phenomenon and Types of Migration ,Basic Concepts in Migration Studies and Migration Theories ,Migration Legislation ,Turkey as a Source and Destination Country of Migration ,Psycho-Social Needs and Social Rights of Migrants ,Problems of migrants,Migration Policies ,Social Acceptance and Discrimination,Integration of Migrants: Syrians in Turkey and Integration Processes,Institutions and Organizations Working in the Field of Irregular Migration,Social Work with Asylum Seekers ,Migrant Smuggling, Human Trafficking and Social Work ,Essential Social Work Skills for Working with Migrants ,The Impact of Social Work on Migration Policies. |
