AimThe aim of this course is to learn the theories and approaches that are frequently used in social work fields and to raise awareness about their use in social work practice.
Course ContentThis course contains; The importance of theories and approaches in social work, An overview of theories and approaches used in social work practices,Systems Theory and Ecological Approach,Empowerment approach,Case study/application with system, ecological system and empowerment theories,Motivational theories and techniques,Case study with motivational theory,Evidence-based theory and practice,Anti-oppression theory and practice,Solution focused theory and techniques,Case study with solution-focused theory,Cognitive-behavioral theories and techniques,Bağlanma teorisi ve vaka incelemesi,Crisis intervention theory and case study,Case study.

2.1.Applies system and ecological system and empowerment theories on the case.
2.2.Explains the problems encountered in individual, group, family and social systems by associating them with the concepts of theories.

3.1.Analyzes cases that are appropriate to study with motivational theory
3.2.Implements the techniques of motivational theory in case intervention.

4.1.Discuss the evidence base of evidence-based theory and how it fits into assessment
4.2.Case studies with evidence-based theory

5.1.Assess cases using anti-oppressive theory
5.2.Addresses macro social work cases by drawing on the knowledge of anti-oppression theory

6.1.Explain the concepts of solution-focused theory, cognitive behavioral theory, and attachment theory
