Course ContentThis course contains; The Concept of Social Problem and Its Relationship with Social Work,Pandemic,Poverty,Unemployment,Migration and Society,Terror and War,Violence Against Women,Child Neglect and Abuse,Crime and Guilt,Problems in the Field of Education,Dependency,Discrimination,Climate Change and Environment,Aging of the population.

1. He/ she will able to evaluate difficulties in defining social problems and their definitions and different approaches. 10, 13, 19, 9A, E
1.1. He/ she explains social problems with functionalist, conflict, and interactionist approaches.
1.2. He/ she approaches critically the causes of social problems through different perspectives.
2. He/ she will able to exemplify the theoretical framework of major social problems in Turkey and the world. 13, 19, 4, 9A, E
2.1. He/ she compares the social problems of developed and developing countries.
2.2. He/ she identifies structural causes of the social problems in Turkey.
3. He/ she will able to interpret socio-economic structure and social problems. 19, 9A, E
3.1. He/ she explains the role of socio-economic structure in the emergence of social problems.
3.2. He/ she interprets statistically the relationship between socio-economic structure and social problems.
4. He/ she will able to develop suggestions for solving social problems. 10, 13, 19, 4, 9A, E
4.1. He/ she defines social problems depending on social values and norms.
4.2. He/ she discusses the importance of social action in the formation of social policies.
5. He/ she will able to relate the point of view, applications and services towards these problematic areas in our country. 10, 13, 19, 9A, E
5.1. He/ she explains the legal arrangements for the solution of social problems in Turkey.
5.2. He/ she identifies social policies and actions of non-governmental organizations in the country.
