AimTo help students develop better oral communication skills through structured exposure to diverse listening and speaking activities on real-life situations whereby students improve their pronunciation, vocabulary, and oral skills of synthesis.
Course ContentThis course contains; Skills of prediction, summary, and recognize emphasis.,Supporting opinions and inferring main ideas.,Use of reductions and contractions, and passive voice.,Main ideas vs. supporting details; analyzing similarities and differences.,Using examples to support opinions; identifying thought groups.,Morphology, word classes, morphemes and morpheme types, morphemes and phonology, Recognizing supporting details, and analyzing problems.,Strategies to interrupt and ask for clarifications; proposing solutions to problems.,Inferring from contextual cluesi, use of present unreal conditionals,Summarizing key information and use of supporting examples.,Asking for and giving examples, and constructing arguments.,Identifying speaker’s attitude and inferring word meaning from context.,Use of reported speech and reporting verbs.,Revisions and assessment..
