Aim	Explanation of the social, cultural, economic and environmental determinants of health and disease; giving information about epidemiological and demographical methods needed for assessment of community health status; teaching the principles of preventive and promotive medicine; explanation of the meaning and methods of health care management; education on maternal-child health care services, community nutrition and health services for high risk groups.

2.3. discusses epidemiological studies and their characteristics.
3. will be able to distinguish characteristics of infectious and noninfectious diseases and discuss their effects on public health.
3.1. recognizes infectious diseases significant for public health and their epidemiological characteristics.
3.2. defines surveillance, outbreak investigation and disease notification system.
3.3. explains immunization and summarizes Expanded Immunization Programme in Turkey.
