AimIn this course, the qualifications, organizational structures, financial resources, duties, authorities and responsibilities of local governments in Turkey from the 19th century to the present will be examined and discussed within the framework of their relations with the central government and political power. In this context, the relations with the EU and the political reasons behind the position of local governments is also evaluated by taking into account the historical process.
