Aim | In the field of Research Methods and Techniques, research topics, preparation of research plan, assumptions, observation, question/questionnaire/survey, data collection and evaluation methods and research report are major topics to be studied. These major issues and underlying theoretical context will be focuses. The most important goal of this course is to ensure that students will be equipped with a scientific research mentality and that they would gain knowledge and necessary tools with conceptual, methodological and procedural aspects in any kind of research. Two main approaches in social sciences, qualitative and quantitative research methods will be presented. Thus, students would have enough base knowledge under which different methods are used, how they are used and interpreted. STATA applications, one of the most widely used among ready-made packages, will also be included to provide application skills and competency. |
