AimThe objectives of this lecture are; 1) To be able to learn the endodontic theoretical information and the indications / contraindications of endodontic treatment, the etiology, classification and diagnosis of endodontic diseases. 2) To learn vital pulp treatment options, endodontic treatment techniques and materials, 3) To know the periapical healing process after endodontic treatment and to be able to evaluate success / failure, 4) To have knowledge about diagnosis and treatment of endo / periodontal lesions. The student will be able to apply the basic endodontic preclinical / practical knowledge to the endodontic applications on extracted the teeth.
Course ContentThis course contains; Endodontic Semioloji,Indication and Contraindication in Endodontics,Vital Pulp Treatments,Endodontic Microbiology,Etiology and Classification of Periapical Inflammations,Periapical Lesions: Acute Apical Periodontitis, Acute Apical Apse,Periapical Lesions: Chronic Apical Periodontitis, Chronic Apical Apse,Healing After Endodontic Treatment,Success / Failure After Endodontic Treatment,Apical Cysts,Endo-Periodontal Lesions.

1) Knows the necessary information about the normal structure and functions of intraoral and adjacent tissues. 2) Knows the causes and mechanisms of endodontic diseases, identify the changes of diseases in the mouth and teeth , can diagnose diseases. 3) Interpret the clinical and radiological findings of oral and dental diseases and, if necessary, synthesize laboratory and pathological findings and make the correct diagnosis. 4) Knows enough information about dental materials and drugs used in endodontics clinic. 5) Knows how to treat pulp and tooth surrounding tissue diseases. 6) Knows the situations in which endodontic treatment can be performed and cannot be done. 7) Knows enough information about the microbiological condition leading to endodontic diseases. 8) To be able to diagnose the clinical and radiological findings of periapical lesions, can make the necessary diagnosis. 9) Knows the necessary procedure for follow-up recovery after endodontic treatment. 10) Knows the necessary theoretical knowledge about the diagnosis and treatment of endo-periodontal lesions and directs them to the specialist when necessary.11, 16, 17, 6, 8, 9A, E
