AimThe aim of this lecture is to teach students to take systemic and dental anamnesis and record this information, to diagnose the periodontal diseases of the patients with periodontal indices and radiographic examination, to establish a treatment plan appropriate for the diagnosis, to perform initial periodontal treatment by manuel and ultrasonic instrumentaion, to inform and motivate the patient for oral hygiene after the treatment, to learn plaque contol methods and periodontal approaches in medically compromised patients, to learn the ergonomics of hand position and body posture during periodontal treatments and to perform scaling and root planing clinically.
Course ContentThis course contains; Anamnesis, The periodontal instrumentation: Manual and Ultrasonic , Demonstration of scaling and root planing,,Recording periodontal indices in clinical practice, Periodontal approaches in medically compromised patients,The ergonomics of hand position and body posture during periodontal treatments,Plaque control methods,Performing of scaling and root planing clinically,Instructing of patients about proper oral hygiene methods During the practical course.
