Assistant(s) | Periodontology is a branch of dentistry that examines the clinical and microscopic structure of the hard and soft tissues surrounding the teeth, diagnoses diseases affecting these tissues, applies their treatments, and maintains the health gained afterwards |
Aim | After explaining the anatomy and histology of the normal periodontium, the disease, its pathogenesis, etiology, immunology and classification are explained and information about treatments is given. In this period, after periodontal disease is introduced, ways to prevent the disease and non-surgical periodontal treatment are explained so that the student can distinguish between health and disease and have an idea about initial periodontal treatments. |
