Aim | To introduce doctoral students of Political Science and International Relations program to qualitative and quantitative research methods, to make qualified discussions on scientific research techniques and philosophy, to provide students with the knowledge and techniques of using different methods. |
Course Content | This course contains; Introduction,Scientific Method and Philosophy of Science ,Fundamental transformations in scientific research methods and the place of qualitative research in the scientific research tradition ,The process of scientific research and determining the problematique; Conceptual Framework; The process of qualitative Research,Research Design; designing the research and classification of methods; qualitative research designs.,Sampling in qualitative and quantitative research,overall discussion before the midterm examination ,Interviews, focus group interviews and observation,Document analysis and qualitative data analysis,Operationalizing and measurement in quantitative research; validity and reliability in qualitative research ,case study, action research, multiple research methods ,Quantitative data analysis,Experimental research and meta analysis,Ethics in scientific research and reporting. |
