AimTo obtain an understanding of the normal histological appearance of central and peripheral nervous system tissues. To examine unique microscopic characteristics of the nervous tissues. To learn the developmental origins of the neural cells and the morphogenetic process they undergo to form the nervous tissues. To introduce the histology and neuropathology associated with nervous system anomalies such as cerebral ischemia, neurodegenerative diseases and developmental abnormalities.
Course ContentThis course contains; Introduction to neurology: Organization and function of the nervous system. ,Histology of the neurons and support cells of the nervous system,Histology of the cerebrum, cerebellum, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system,Histology of the sensory organs,Early development of the nervous system,Development of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system,Midterm exam,Development of the sensory organs,Developmental abnormalities of the central nervous system,Developmental abnormalities of the peripheral nervous system,Developmental abnormalities of the sensory organs,Diseases of the central nervous system,Diseases of the peripheral nervous system and the sensory organs,Final exam.
