AimThe aim of this course is to provide an overview of the history of psychology and contemporary psychological science, to comprehend the basic terminology of cognitive psychology, to deal with classical behavioural (cognitive) experiments related to each cognitive process, to introduce the causes and forms of disturbance of human personality and abnormal behaviour at a basic level.
Course ContentThis course contains; History of General Psychology and Mind-Science Relationship,Cognitive Psychology Approach,Cognition-Behaviour Relationship and Experiments,Dikkat ve Bilinç,Perception,Memory STM, WM and USB,Types of Long Term Memory,Semantic Memory, Representation and Knowledge,Executive-managerial Cognitive Abilities,Language,Imagery, Problem Solving,Personality,Reality Assessment, Mood and Psychopathologies.

The students will be acquired the basic and current theoretical knowledge about Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy.

The students identify human cognitive processes and know their neural structure and processes.

The students identify the brain damage in the direction of the principles of behavioral neuroanatomy and they can distinguish between similar diseases.

The students can apply traditional methods and basic neuromodulation techniques used in Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy.

Students will be able to evaluate emotion, cognition and behavior by using appropriate psychometric measurement tools.

The student, by working alone or with a team on a subject, using the most accurate research methods, plans a research, executes and makes the results as a scientific report.

The students adopt working in cooperation with the health team and other disciplines and internalize the ethics of the field.
