AimThe aim of the Laboratory Rotation-II course is for Master’s level students to observe and be able to explain the basic technical approaches in laboratory application that will benefit their thesis work and understanding of the scope of different laboratory disciplines. By rotating in different labs every week, students are aimed to be exposed to the basic molecular biology techniques, proteomics and genomics applications, FACS, primary and cell line culture applications, transgenic animal models, electrophysiology, neuroscience and cancer research applications, basic protein and gene expression analysis.
Course ContentThis course contains; Electroencephalography (EEG) and its use in scientific research,Electroencephalography (EEG) application and practice,Flourescence activated cell sorting (FACS) method,Functional Neurology Applications,Primary cells and cell line culture applications,Experimental and transgenic animal models and applications
,Evaluation of Laboratory Notebooks for the Midterm Exam,Drug screening and cell survival tests,Electrophysiology and patch-clamp method,Gene expression Analysis in Molecular Biology,Cancer Biology Lab and Applicaitons,Histology and cryosectioning technique,Protein Analysis in Molecular Biology,Evaluation of Laboratory Notebooks for the Final Exam.

The students will be acquired the basic and current theoretical knowledge about Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy.

The students identify human cognitive processes and know their neural structure and processes.

The students identify the brain damage in the direction of the principles of behavioral neuroanatomy and they can distinguish between similar diseases.

The students can apply traditional methods and basic neuromodulation techniques used in Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy.

Students will be able to evaluate emotion, cognition and behavior by using appropriate psychometric measurement tools.

The student, by working alone or with a team on a subject, using the most accurate research methods, plans a research, executes and makes the results as a scientific report.

The students adopt working in cooperation with the health team and other disciplines and internalize the ethics of the field.
