School of Pharmacy

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Istanbul Medipol University was established in 2010. This year, as we graduate the 12th cohort of our Turkish program and the 2nd cohort of our English program, our Faculty remains committed to providing our students with the high-quality education they deserve and to further enhancing the positive feedback we receive from them each year. The aim of our undergraduate program is to educate qualified pharmacists who uphold professional ethical values, are open to continuous development, have adopted lifelong learning as a principle, prioritize public health, possess a strong academic foundation, and contribute to national development.

As an educational and research institution, our Faculty, which holds a pioneering and progressive position in Turkey, continues its steady advancement with the opportunities provided by our University. With the establishment of our fully English-taught program, which commenced student admissions in the 2020–2021 academic year, our Faculty contributes significantly to science and industry through research projects, scholarly publications, and consultancy services, supported by a dynamic and well-equipped academic staff.

In addition to the events we organize to prepare our students for their professional careers—such as “Career Days,” “PharmaTalks,” “National Pharmacy Congresses,” the “National Symposium on Environment, Nutrition and Microbiota,” and “Pharmacy Day”—we also offer cultural excursions aimed at fostering a broad vision and supporting their socio-cultural development. We take great pride in seeing our graduates, whom we strive to educate as exemplary individuals with integrity, diligence, and a strong sense of responsibility toward society and the environment, successfully pursue their careers in the public sector, industry, and academia, and become highly sought after by the private sector. At the same time, we never cease to ask ourselves: “Can we do even better?”

In order to support the social and cultural development of our students, a variety of elective cultural courses offered through the pool established by our Rectorate are integrated into their education. Efforts are made to enhance personal skills, and numerous social events, sports activities, and meetings are organized. We are also pleased to observe our students’ active participation not only in social activities but also in social responsibility projects. Among the excursions organized for our students are visits to pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, botanical field trips, and recreational outings that include sports activities.

Through international student exchange programs such as Erasmus+, in which our University actively participates, our students are encouraged to engage with diverse cultures. In addition, our University offers internal double major, minor, and horizontal transfer programs for high-achieving students. Our Faculty was granted “Full Accreditation” by the National Pharmacy Education Accreditation Board for the Turkish program for the period 25 January 2019 – 25 January 2025, and this accreditation was renewed for the period 25 January 2025 – 25 January 2031. We will continue to work together with the same determination to achieve the mission and vision we have set.

Sincerely,
Prof. Dr. Gülden Z. Omurtag
Acting Dean
