PROF. OMURTAG: A CULTURE OF BELONGING AND SOLIDARITY IS GROWING STRONGER AT MEDIPOL
Prof. Gülden Omurtag, Dean of the School of Pharmacy at Istanbul Medipol University, stated that the achievement extends far beyond the awards themselves, emphasizing that the strong culture of solidarity established among students has been a crucial component of this success. She noted that students are encouraged to engage in teamwork from the very beginning of their studies and explained that this approach supports both academic productivity and professional development.

Omurtag further remarked that active participation in various organizations helps students build self-confidence and stressed that an interdisciplinary culture of collaboration makes a significant contribution to the development of future pharmacists.

Commenting on the achievement, Omurtag stated:

“From the very first years of their education, our students learn to share, collaborate, and work as a team. Whenever necessary, they support one another’s projects and take part together in various organizations. This process brings not only academic success but also fosters a strong sense of belonging at Medipol. The foundations of a professional culture based on mutual support and solidarity after graduation are established here.”

Omurtag added that MEDUPSA’s success is the result not only of student motivation but also of academic mentorship and sustainable teamwork. She expressed her great satisfaction with the students’ continued commitment to developing innovative projects.
