10,000 graduates, one shared pride: Grand Graduation Celebration at Medipol
The 2025–2026 Academic Year Graduation Ceremonies at Istanbul Medipol University have come to an end. Over the course of eight days at the South Campus, 10,000 students celebrated their graduation.

The graduation ceremonies held at Istanbul Medipol University’s South Campus have concluded. During the eight-day celebration, 10,000 students experienced the joy of graduation. Graduates from the School of Pharmacy, College of Health Sciences, School of Communication, School of Health Sciences, Vocational School of Health Services, School of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, School of Education, School of Dentistry, School of Business and Management Sciences, School of Medicine, School of Engineering and Natural Sciences, International School of Medicine, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Vocational School of Social Sciences, School of Law and Vocational School were bid farewell. Graduates received their diplomas to the applause of their families and academics, while the traditional cap-tossing ceremonies were marked by great enthusiasm.
The graduation ceremonies were attended by Istanbul Medipol University President Prof. Bahadır Kürşat Güntürk, Vice Presidents Prof. Recep Öztürk and Prof. Yasemin Yüksel Durmaz, Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Abdurrahman Çetin, executives of the Medipol Education and Health Group, academics, administrative staff, students and their families.

“OUR GRADUATES WILL BE INDIVIDUALS WHO SHAPE THE FUTURE”
Delivering the opening address of the graduation ceremonies, Istanbul Medipol University President Prof. Bahadır Kürşat Güntürk said that graduation signifies not only the completion of an educational journey but also the beginning of a new journey for individuals who will build the future.
Emphasizing that universities are not merely institutions that transfer knowledge, Güntürk said: “Universities are institutions that produce knowledge, develop technology, guide society, and shape the future. At Istanbul Medipol University, we continue on our path with this understanding. With more than 40,000 students, over 50,000 graduates, our strong academic staff, and our international achievements, we continue to grow stronger every day.”

Speaking about the university’s international achievements, Güntürk stated that Istanbul Medipol University is included in international rankings prepared by the world’s leading higher education ranking organizations and emphasized that the university’s goal is to become a strong research university that produces science, develops technology, and contributes to humanity.
Highlighting that the academic and scientific studies carried out at the university will further strengthen its international standing, Güntürk stated that, with its research-oriented growth vision, the university aims to reach higher positions in global rankings.
“WE ARE EDUCATING GRADUATES WHO DEVELOP ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE”
Stating that humanity is experiencing one of the greatest transformations in its history, Güntürk said that artificial intelligence is reshaping professions, ways of working, and methods of accessing knowledge.
Güntürk emphasized that Istanbul Medipol University does not view artificial intelligence merely as a technical tool and stated that the university has integrated this technology into educational processes across all disciplines, from health sciences to law, from communication to business.
He noted that their goal is to educate graduates who not only use artificial intelligence but also develop it, define its ethical boundaries, and create new applications, adding: “We want our students to be people who initiate change, not simply follow it. Because Medipol’s vision is not to follow but to lead.”

“YOUR DIPLOMA IS THE GATEWAY TO NEW BEGINNINGS”
Continuing his speech, Güntürk also thanked the families, stating that they had played the greatest role in helping students reach this milestone and expressing his gratitude to all parents who entrusted their children to the university.
Addressing the graduates, Güntürk said that a diploma is not a destination but a gateway to new opportunities and responsibilities. He emphasized that being a graduate of Istanbul Medipol University means combining science with conscience, using knowledge for the benefit of humanity, and creating value for society. He also expressed his confidence that graduates would represent both their university and their country in the best possible way wherever they may be in the world.
Concluding his speech, Güntürk said: “The future does not emerge on its own. The future is built by those who dream of it and work for it. We are not simply graduating you; we are sending you off as the doctors, engineers, lawyers, entrepreneurs, scientists, and leaders of the future. We believe that Istanbul Medipol University graduates will be among those who shape the future, not merely those who watch it.” He congratulated all graduates and wished them continued success.

The 2025–2026 Academic Year Graduation Ceremonies at Istanbul Medipol University will continue in the coming days with graduation ceremonies for different faculties and schools. Approximately 15,000 students are expected to graduate during the overall organization, where students will continue to celebrate the pride of successfully completing their academic journey together with their families.
