Medipol Faculty of Pharmacy welcomed Malaysian students

Istanbul Medipol University ISPE welcomed a delegation from Al-Sultan Abdullah University of Pahang, Malaysia (UMPSA). Visiting students toured the laboratories of the Faculty of Pharmacy and received information about the academic infrastructure, while also having the opportunity to explore Istanbul through an organized cultural visit.

Within the scope of an international mobility program, Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Pharmacy hosted guests from Malaysia. Students from Al-Sultan Abdullah University of Pahang participated in academic and cultural programs organized under the auspices of the ISPE Medipol Club. The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Gülden Zehra Omurtag, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Istanbul Medipol University, and the academic program was coordinated by ISPE Medipol Advisor Dr. Faculty Member İpek Eroğlu.

SCIENTIFIC EXPLORATION ACROSS FIVE LABORATORIES 
As part of the academic component of the program, the visiting students examined the faculty’s scientific infrastructure and research facilities on site. The delegation toured the Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Technology, and Microbiology laboratories in rotation. They were accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Davut Arpa, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Lecturer Büşra Şahin Kurt; and Research Assistants Tarık Emre Öztürk,Mehmet Enes Tezçakar,Rengin Baydar, Melisa Gündüz, and Ayşe İnci. During the visits, detailed presentations were delivered on ongoing laboratory projects and the technical infrastructure in use. The meeting, which introduced the research-oriented structure of pharmacy education in Türkiye, also provided an opportunity to compare the academic frameworks of the two universities and to evaluate potential avenues for future collaboration.

CULTURAL AND ACADEMIC VISIT ON THE BOSPHORUS 
The social and cultural dimension of the program included a Bosphorus cruise aboard the Valide Sultan Ferry. ISPE Medipol Advisor Dr. Faculty Member İpek Eroğlu and Dr. Faculty Member Çağlar Macit also participated in the event. While experiencing Istanbul’s historical landscape and the unique scenery of the Bosphorus, the students were informed about the academic environment and sectoral dynamics in Türkiye. As the first international organization hosted by the ISPE Medipol Club, the event contributed to enhancing students’ cultural awareness while also supporting the development of their academic perspectives.
