RAMER developed by Assoc. Prof. Meral won an award in a UN-supported program
RAMER Technology, an AI-powered digital export platform developed by Assoc. Prof. Yurdagül Meral, was recognized with an award in the Inclusive Green Transition Accelerator Program, implemented through the collaboration of the United Nations, UNIDO, and TÜBİTAK.

Developed by Assoc. Prof. Yurdagül Meral, a faculty member at the School of Business and Management Sciences at Istanbul Medipol University, and built upon the “Foreign Trade Documentation Preparation System” registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, the technology venture RAMER was selected among nearly 200 projects and ranked second in Türkiye within the scope of the United Nations-supported Inclusive Green Transition 2025 Accelerator Program.
At the award ceremony held in Ankara, Assoc. Prof. Yurdagül Meral received her award from Dr. Babatunde Ahonsi, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Türkiye.
Supported by the United Nations Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF), the program is implemented through the collaboration of UNIDO, IOM,TÜBİTAK, and relevant stakeholder institutions to support innovative initiatives that contribute to Türkiye’s green transition, sustainable development, and inclusive economic growth.

A PATENT BORN IN ACADEMIA TRANSFORMED INTO A STARTUP WITH TÜBİTAK SUPPORT
The “Foreign Trade Documentation Preparation System” developed through Assoc. Prof. Yurdagül Meral’s academic research in foreign trade, was registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) and placed under intellectual property protection.
The patented technology was later commercialized with support from the TÜBİTAK 1812 BİGG Program and transformed into the startup RAMER Technology, established on August 26, 2024. Operating within the META TEKMER Technology Development Center, the company develops innovative solutions that digitalize export processes.
BRINGING FRAGMENTED EXPORT PROCESSES TOGETHER ON A SINGLE PLATFORM
RAMER’s AI-powered and patent-backed digital export platform brings together exporters, importers, logistics companies, insurance providers, inspection organizations, banks, customs brokers, and other foreign trade stakeholders within a single interactive system.
By reducing fragmented workflows, documentation deficiencies, and coordination challenges frequently encountered in export operations, the platform helps establish a faster and more efficient foreign trade infrastructure.
DIGITAL DOCUMENT PREPARATION WITH ICC EXPERT SUPPORT
One of the platform’s most notable features is its ability to prepare foreign trade documents in compliance with international regulations.
Improperly prepared trade documents can result in payment delays, additional costs, and collection-related risks. The system digitalizes documentation processes in accordance with International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules, the European Union’s Import Control System (ICS2) requirements, and Green Deal regulations.
Supported by ICC-certified experts, the platform makes export procedures more accessible, particularly for SMEs that face challenges in employing dedicated foreign trade specialists.
As a result, delays at customs, document-related costs, and payment risks can be significantly reduced.
LOWER LOGISTICS COSTS THROUGH SMART MATCHING
RAMER optimizes not only documentation processes but also logistics operations.
Its smart matching algorithm connects exporters’ transportation demands with the unused capacity of logistics companies, increasing vehicle utilization rates while reducing transportation costs.
This approach helps businesses achieve cost advantages while supporting sustainable logistics objectives through more efficient use of resources.
A SOCIAL IMPACT MODEL FOR WOMEN MICRO-EXPORTERS
One of the project’s distinguishing features is its social impact dimension. In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, RAMER provides free consultancy support to women micro-exporters. The platform also facilitates access to international markets for small and medium-sized enterprises, supporting inclusive economic growth.
In this respect, the project is not only a technological solution but also a development model that strengthens women’s entrepreneurship, broadens participation in exports, and promotes equal economic opportunities.
Having been selected from nearly 200 projects and achieving second place in Türkiye, RAMER stands out as a recent example of how academic research conducted at Istanbul Medipol University can be transformed into patents, technology ventures, and innovative solutions with international impact.
