Social Contribution
The inevitable impact of change, accelerated by the momentum of technology, has quickened social transformation and given rise to the concept of "globalization," which dissolves borders and expands the dimensions of interaction. Globalization exerts a powerful influence across a broad spectrum, encompassing political, economic, social, cultural, geographical, ecological, and technological spheres. It is projected that in the 21st century, the influence of advancing technology will lead to development equivalent to the sum of all knowledge humanity has produced to date.
This rapid transformation also brings forth critical challenges such as global warming, resource scarcity, population growth, environmental disasters, migration triggered by economic and political policies, urbanization, human rights, and animal rights. If no precautions are taken, these issues pose a threat to sustainable living. While the proliferation of technology has eliminated the boundaries of time and space—allowing us to access information faster and bringing us closer to people in different parts of the world—it has also complicated the global landscape.
There must be a way out of this spiral of global problems. This path lies in the shared values of humanity: sharing and cooperation. While individual acts of "charity" were sufficient to provide benefits a few generations ago, they are no longer enough on their own. However, the seeds sown by this concept are evolving in parallel with change, bringing about institutionalized social initiatives.
As supranational agreements, obligations, and corporate social responsibility standards challenge countries and businesses, an increasing number of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are striving to produce solutions for diverse needs. At this juncture, our university has taken the necessary step toward solving the problems arising from the negative effects of change by establishing the Social Contribution Commission.
Operating under the motto "Goodness is always good," the Social Contribution Commission was launched with the following objectives:
- A society that is aware, sensitive, and conscious,
- A clean and healthy environment,
- A social life enriched by culture, art, and sports,
- Collaborations dominated by a sense of joint action and solidarity, through enhanced sharing and stakeholder relations,
- To "make the world a better place" by continuously creating value.
Our goal is to lead, produce, and support ideas that will contribute to society. We are driven by the belief and motivation that a planned ecosystem—where all stakeholders are involved in relevant processes within an ethical framework—will provide social contribution from a local to a global scale. We set out with the vision of transforming into an organization that increases its impact over the years together with our stakeholders, whom we see as our greatest wealth: our staff, students, alumni, families, public institutions, NGOs, and the business and financial sectors.
We extend our gratitude to all our volunteers who have joined us with a sense of responsible global citizenship and to all our stakeholders who support the realization of our projects.
