PROF. TAŞTEKİN: THE BUDGET ALLOCATED FOR HEALTH IN OUR COUNTRY SHOULD BE INCREASED
The Dean of the International School of Medicine Prof. Ayhan Taştekin said that in order to become a developed country, the premature birth rate must be reduced. Prof. Taştekin concluded his words as follows: “The lower the number of deaths under five, the more developed the country is. Nurses are more important than doctors in premature baby care. The quality of a neonatal intensive care unit is directly proportional to the quality of its nurses. Therefore, we need expert nurses. While Türkiye allocates 4.6% of its budget to health, these rates are much higher in the world. If we want to keep our babies alive, we must allocate more budget to health and train expert doctors and nurses.”
