Ali Artmaz met with students of the School of Communication

TRT News USA Correspondent Ali Artmaz was the guest of the ‘Journalism in the USA’ interview organized by the School of Communication, Department of Journalism at the South Campus. Artmaz explained the dynamics of foreign reporting and the impact of journalism on global events with examples. Emphasizing the important aspects of foreign news for Türkiye to the students participating in the panel, Artmaz said: “In journalism, it is necessary to follow major events and agendas closely, from the US elections to the Ukraine-Russia war. In Türkiye, the number one item in journalism during election periods is elections, and these are followed closely.” Highlighting the importance of having a broad perspective in journalism, Artmaz touched upon the importance of foreign journalism and said: “Events that affect the world agenda, such as the US elections, are also of great interest to Türkiye.” Artmaz also spoke about his professional experiences and said that students need to develop their technical skills. At the end of the event, a plaque was presented to Artmaz by the Mediapol Club.
