DR. DÜNDAR: SUNLIGHT ACCELERATES SKIN AGING
In the program, Kadir Çetin and Dr. Makbule Dündar touched upon important points about skin health and aesthetic applications. Stressing that the skin is one of the most important organs in our body, Dr. Makbule Dündar said: “Our skin is our mirror, our most visible organ.” Providing information on the aging process of the skin, Dr. Dündar explained that skin aging begins at the age of 25. She added: “The collagen production of our cells decreases every day. This causes fine wrinkles and sunspots to appear.” Dr. Dündar emphasized that sun rays, smoking, environmental pollution, and poor diet play a role among the factors that accelerate aging. Recommending the use of sunscreen as one of the most important ways to protect skin health, Dr. Dündar said: We recommend that sensitive skin and all skin types use sunscreen in summer and winter, and especially reapply sunscreen every 20 minutes during the summer months.” Emphasizing that cosmetic products and aesthetic procedures alone will not be enough to stay young, Dr. Dündar stated: “It is important to have a protein-rich diet and exercise regularly to keep the skin young.”
