Dr. Yerlikaya awarded prestigious research scholarship

Dr. Şerife Yerlikaya, who will take part in the project to be carried out in collaboration with Istanbul Medipol University and the University of Tours, has been awarded a prestigious research grant supported by the French Embassy.

Dr. Şerife Yerlikaya from Istanbul Medipol University School of Health Services has been awarded a research scholarship by the French Embassy to carry out a joint project between Istanbul Medipol University and the University of Tours. Continuing her studies at Istanbul Medipol University Research Institute for Health Sciences and Technologies (SABITA), Dr. Yerlikaya will conduct her research titled “Electrophysiological Studies on Purinergic Signalling Receptors in the Phenotypic Switch of Cardiac Fibroblasts and Interaction with Inflammatory Cells in Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury” at the University of Tours in France under the guidance of Prof. Sebastien Roger. This prestigious one-month research grant aims to investigate the role of cardiac fibroblasts in ischaemic injury and to develop new approaches to the treatment of heart disease. The study is the first step in an academic collaboration between Istanbul Medipol University and the University of Tours.
