TÜBİTAK support for 104 student projects across diverse disciplines
Projects developed by Istanbul Medipol University students have been awarded support under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A and 2209-B programs. Spanning fields from health sciences and engineering to social sciences, law, communication, education, business, design, and architecture, these research projects provide undergraduate students with opportunities to engage directly in scientific research and project development processes.

A total of 104 projects developed by Istanbul Medipol University students will receive support under the 2209-A and 2209-B programs for university students administered by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK). According to the results of the 2025 application period, 98 of these projects were accepted under the 2209-A Research Project Support Program for Undergraduate Students, while six were accepted under the 2209-B Industry-Oriented Research Project Support Program for Undergraduate Students.
STUDENT RESEARCH SPANS 14 ACADEMIC UNITS
The distribution of projects supported under the 2209-A program demonstrates the broad disciplinary diversity of student research across the University. In addition to health sciences, medicine, and pharmacy, projects from engineering and natural sciences, business and management sciences, humanities and social sciences, education, communication, law, fine arts, design, and architecture were awarded support under the program.
Of the 98 projects accepted, 27 will be conducted within the School of Health Sciences, 19 within the School of Health Sciences Vocational Studies, 17 within the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences, eight within the School of Business and Management Sciences, seven within the School of Medicine, and five within the School of Pharmacy. Three projects each from the School of International Medicine and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences; two projects each from the School of Education, Vocational School, and School of Communication; and one project each from the School of Dentistry, School of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, and School of Law were also included within the scope of the support program.
SIX PROJECTS WILL BRING ACADEMIC KNOWLEDGE TOGETHER WITH INDUSTRY
The TÜBİTAK 2209-B program focuses on connecting students’ research processes with industry needs and practical challenges. Within this framework, four of the six projects from Istanbul Medipol University accepted into the program were developed within the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences, while two were developed within the School of Pharmacy.
Under the program, students will conduct research addressing a problem encountered by industry under academic supervision, gaining experience in translating scientific knowledge into practical applications.
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE DURING UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION
The TÜBİTAK 2209 programs aim to enable university students to gain experience at different stages of scientific research while they are still pursuing their undergraduate education. Throughout this process, students actively participate in the fundamental stages of scientific research, from identifying a research problem and developing a methodology to generating and analyzing data and evaluating the results.
The 104 projects supported from Istanbul Medipol University will similarly integrate the educational journeys of students from different disciplines with hands-on research experience, enabling them to put their scientific thinking and project development skills into practice during their undergraduate studies.
