Internship Information

Dear Students,
Our faculty programs require the completion of 2 compulsory internships as part of their graduation requirements. To ensure that your internship processes are carried out without any academic, administrative, or legal (Social Security Institution - SGK) complications, the steps, prerequisites, and rules you must follow are detailed below.
1. APPLICATION PREREQUISITES
In order to apply for an internship, you are strictly required to have completed the following program-specific academic prerequisites. Applications from students who do not meet these prerequisites will be automatically rejected by the Internship Committee.

Department / Program  PrerequisitePrerequisite
                             Architecture
                                      &
Interior Architecture and Environmental Design

Having successfully completed at least 3 design studio courses.

(Eligible Courses: Basic Design, Introduction to Design Studio,

Architectural Design Studio I / Interior Architectural Design Studio I)

2. PRE-INTERNSHIP PROCEDURES & REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
In order for you to legally commence your internship, your SSI (SGK) Employment Notification must be processed by our university. For the university to initiate your insurance procedures, you are required to upload the following two documents online via the application form* that will be announced on our website notices.
•    1. Internship Application Form: This form specifies the student's department, the type of internship, detailed information about the internship venue, and the scope and content of the student's duties at the workplace. After filling out the personal information section and the fields regarding the institution where they intend to intern, the student must have the form signed and stamped by the authorized person at the internship venue. Students who plan to complete both of their internships consecutively during the summer period must fill out separate forms and initiate the process for Internship 1 and Internship 2 individually.
•    2. Internship Declaration and Commitment Form: This is a legal document that must be carefully read, completely filled out, and signed on every page by the student. If this document is not submitted, your SSI (SGK) registration procedures will strictly not be initiated.
ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS EXCLUSIVELY FOR STUDENTS INTERNING ABROAD:
•    3. Internship Liability Form: It is mandatory only for students conducting their internships abroad to fill out and sign this document completely.
•    4. Acceptance Letter: Only students conducting their internships abroad must upload an official acceptance letter written and signed by an authorized person from the host institution into the system.
* Due to legal insurance legislation, the Internship Application Form and the Internship Declaration and Commitment Form must be fully completed and uploaded to the online system at least 15 days prior to your internship start date; forms that are not submitted with a wet signature and stamp by the Internship Venue Authority during this process will be considered directly invalid and will strictly not be evaluated. All applications collected through the online system will be reviewed by the Internship Committee to evaluate the approval or rejection status of the internships. Evaluations will be published through a live Excel spreadsheet included within a single announcement regarding the process. Students are required to follow the upcoming announcement on a weekly basis.
3. POST-INTERNSHIP SUBMISSION DOCUMENTS
Following the completion of your internship, the following documents must be submitted fully and flawlessly within the announced dates for academic evaluation to take place:
•    1. Internship Diary: This is the form where students document each day of their internship and describe the work performed in detail. Every page must be signed by both the Student and the Internship Venue Authority. Drawings, sketches, and photographs taken during the internship period must be embedded directly into the relevant pages of the logbook and uploaded to MEBİS as a single, unified PDF file.
•    2. Internship Registration Form: This is the official form where the internship venue authority grades the student. This document must be sent directly from the official email address of the host institution by the person in charge to the respective department's internship email address. The forms delivered by students by hand or via personal email addresses will not be accepted. To avoid any confusion, the institutional authority must include "Student ID - First Name Last Name - Internship Registration Form" in the subject line or the body of the email.

Important Note: Students who plan to complete both of their compulsory internships consecutively during the summer period must fill out separate application forms for Internship 1 and Internship 2, and must initiate the processes for both internships independently (individually). It is not possible to apply for two internships using a single form.
To ensure that the processes run smoothly, we kindly request that you pay maximum attention to the specified dates, academic prerequisites, and signature/stamp regulations, and regularly follow any new announcements regarding the process. We wish you a successful internship period.
