The main objective of this course is to provide students with knowledge about the types and characteristics of medical, hazardous, and domestic wastes generated in healthcare institutions, and their potential risks to human health and the environment. The course aims to teach the principles and practices of waste segregation at source, collection, transportation, temporary storage, disposal, and recycling processes in accordance with national and international regulations.
Furthermore, the course seeks to equip students with the ability to act in compliance with legal frameworks in healthcare waste management, and to foster awareness of developing environmentally responsible, sustainable, and safe waste management systems.
