Aim	To provide information about the physiology of normal birth, the course of labor, its stages, labor pain, the mother's preparation for birth, monitoring and midwifery care during the stages of birth, identifying deviations from normal by learning the changes related to the postpartum period, and providing knowledge and skills on mother and baby care in the postpartum period
Course Content	This course contains; Normal Birth Factors that play a role in labor Birth Canal (Bone pelvis),Factors that play a role in labor -Soft Parts at Birth -Birth object (Fetus),The Forces That Make Birth Occur -Birth Action and Physiology I -Factors Initiating Birth Action - Onset Symptoms of Labor -The Differences Between True and False Birth Pains -Pain at Birth and Coping Methods,Evaluation of fetal health (Partograph-Intrapartum EFM) -Monitoring and care in the first phase of the action -Monitoring and care in the second phase of the action,Monitoring and Supporting the Mother in the third/fourth stages of labor Perineal damage and protection of the perineum Drugs used in labor,Care, Monitoring and Support of the Mother in the Bleeding Control Phase Initiating Breastfeeding and Supporting the Postpartum,Newborn Examination, Follow-up and Care in the Delivery Room -Skin to skin contact, Kangaroo Care, Breast milk Banking, Cord Blood Banking,Physiology of the Postpartum Period -Involution Process in the Reproductive System -Uterine Cervix -Vulva Vagina -Perineum -Pelvic Muscular Support -Abdomen -Nipples,Change in Other Organs and Systems Endocrine System Urinary System Gastrointestinal System Ovulation and return of menstruation Cardiovascular system(plasma volume/blood values/cardiooutput) Vital Signs,Breast-feeding - Postpartum discharge training - Postpartum exercise - Postpartum nutrition,Postpartum sex life Postpartum family planning,Spiritual Changes in the Postpartum Period Psychosocial Adaptation,Traditional Practices Regarding Birth and Postpartum Period Midwifery Practices Related to Birth Current Studies,Social support and home care of the newborn in the postpartum period .
