| Aim | This course aims to understand the relationship between the midwifery profession and public health by discussing the basic principles of public health, its historical development and its place in health systems. Students will be able to effectively evaluate the role of midwifery in preventive and supportive health services by understanding public health issues such as demography, infectious diseases, immunization, maternal and child health, school and environmental health, nutrition and extraordinary situations. In addition, they will be able to consciously apply their professional roles in community-based health services by obtaining information on legal regulations regarding health policies, reproductive health, family planning and midwifery. |
